These ham steaks are pan-seared until golden, then glazed with a sticky-sweet honey mustard sauce that caramelizes just right. It’s the perfect mix of savory and sweet, and it comes together so quickly you’ll feel like you cheated (in a good way).

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ham steaks (about 1 lb total)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

  2. Add ham steaks and sear for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and heated through.

  3. In a small bowl, whisk together Dijon mustard, honey, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and black pepper.

  4. Pour glaze over the ham in the skillet. Let it bubble and reduce slightly, spooning it over the ham steaks.

  5. Cook for 1–2 minutes more until the glaze thickens.

  6. Serve hot, spooning extra glaze over the top.

Notes

  • Use thick-cut ham steaks for best results.
  • Don’t walk away when glazing—sugar can burn quickly.
  • Glaze can be doubled for extra sauciness.
  • Leftover ham slices from the holidays work great too.
