Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs cubed steak
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

Instructions

  1. Sear the Steak (Optional): Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and brown the cubed steaks on both sides for extra flavor.
  2. Layer in the Crockpot: Place sliced onions and garlic at the bottom of the slow cooker, then layer the cubed steaks on top.
  3. Make the Gravy: In a bowl, mix beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Pour over the steak.
  4. Slow Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the steak is fork-tender.
  5. Thicken the Gravy (If Needed): Mix 1 tbsp cornstarch with 2 tbsp water and stir it into the slow cooker 30 minutes before serving.
  6. Serve & Enjoy: Spoon the steak and gravy over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.

Notes

  • Use homemade cream of mushroom soup for a richer taste.
  • Let it cook on low for the most tender results.
  • Add mushrooms for extra flavor.
