Quick and easy to prepare in under 30 minutes, it’s ideal for date nights or special occasions at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb steak (ribeye, filet mignon, or sirloin recommended)
  • 1/2 lb large shrimp, deveined with tails on
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter (divided)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (for extra kick)

Instructions

  1. Sear the Steak:

    • Season the steak with salt, pepper, and paprika.

    • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the steak for 3-5 minutes per side until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove the steak, cover with foil, and let it rest before slicing.

  2. Cook the Shrimp:

    • In the same skillet, add 1 tbsp butter.

    • Add the shrimp and season with salt, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes if using. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.

  3. Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce:

    • In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tbsp butter and sauté the minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

    • Pour in the heavy cream and add the Parmesan cheese. Whisk continuously and simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper.

  4. Combine and Serve:

    • Slice the rested steak and arrange on a serving plate.

    • Top with the cooked shrimp and drizzle the creamy garlic sauce over everything.

    • Serve immediately with your favorite sides, like garlic mashed potatoes or roasted asparagus.

Notes

  • Let the steak rest after cooking to ensure it remains juicy.
  • Avoid overcooking the shrimp; they only need a few minutes per side.
  • Substitute heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter version, though the sauce won’t be as rich.
  • For an extra touch of flavor, add a splash of red wine or fresh herbs to the sauce.
