Ingredients
Pizza dough: 1 package (store-bought or homemade, enough for a 12×18-inch sheet pan)
Ground beef or turkey: 1 lb (450g)
Taco seasoning: 1 packet (about 1 oz or 28g)
Salsa: 1/2 cup (120ml)
Shredded cheddar cheese: 2 cups (about 8 oz or 225g)
Shredded lettuce: 1-2 cups (depending on preference)
Preheat and Prepare the Pizza Dough: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Roll out the pizza dough on a sheet pan, pressing it out to cover the surface.
Cook the Meat: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey until browned. Stir in the taco seasoning and a splash of water as instructed on the seasoning packet. Let it simmer for a few minutes.
Assemble the Pizza: Spread a thin layer of salsa on the pizza dough. Evenly distribute the taco meat over the salsa and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
Bake: Place the pizza in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden.
Add Fresh Toppings: After baking, top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, black olives, jalapeños, sour cream, and cilantro.
Notes
For a spicier version, add crushed red pepper flakes or hot sauce before baking.
Use your favorite protein (beef, turkey, chicken, or a vegetarian option).
For more cheese, add extra on top after baking or on the taco meat.
