This creamy Sausage Cheese Dip is the perfect appetizer for any party, game day, or gathering. Packed with savory sausage, creamy cheese, and a blend of spices, it’s a crowd-pleaser that pairs wonderfully with chips, crackers, or fresh veggies. Quick to make and always a hit!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground sausage (such as breakfast sausage)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies (such as Ro*Tel)
  • 1/4 cup milk (more for desired consistency)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Cook the Sausage
In a large skillet, cook the ground sausage over medium heat, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Once browned and cooked through, drain any excess grease and set the sausage aside.

2. Combine the Cheese and Tomatoes
In the same skillet, add the softened cream cheese and diced tomatoes with green chilies. Stir occasionally until the cream cheese melts and everything is well combined.

3. Add the Sausage and Spices
Add the cooked sausage to the skillet and mix well. Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to taste. Gradually add the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, stirring until the dip becomes smooth and creamy.

4. Adjust Consistency
If the dip is too thick, add a little milk, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.

5. Serve
Transfer the dip to a serving dish and serve warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables for dipping.

Notes

  • This dip can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 2-3 days. Reheat gently in the microwave or on the stove, adding a splash of milk if necessary.
  • You can make it spicier by adding a diced jalapeño or using a spicier sausage.
  • For a creamier texture, use half-and-half instead of milk.
