Ingredients

Scale

Jalapeno Poppers Ingredients

  • 8 oz. package cream cheese, softened
  • ½ teaspoon coarse black pepper
  • 12 sliced green onions (about 3 tablespoons)
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic or garlic paste
  • ½ cup medium cheddar cheese, grated
  • ½ cup monterey jack cheese, grated
  • 1012 jalapeno peppers, medium

Sandwich Ingredients

  • 20 slices bread (cracked wheat sourdough recommended)
  • 810 tablespoons salted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 10 oz. Monterey Jack cheese, sliced
  • 10 oz. Medium cheddar cheese, sliced
  • 20 slices cooked bacon (2 per sandwich)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Jalapeno Poppers: Mix cream cheese, black pepper, green onions, garlic, cheddar, and monterey jack. Fill jalapenos with mixture and bake until bubbly.
  2. Build Sandwich: Butter bread slices, layer with cheeses, bacon, and jalapeno poppers.
  3. Grill: Cook sandwiches in a skillet until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted.

Notes

  • You can adjust the spiciness by removing seeds and ribs from jalapenos or using fewer jalapenos.
  • For a vegetarian version, omit the bacon or use a meat alternative.
