These Ground Beef Lettuce Wraps are a quick, flavorful, and healthy meal. Lean ground beef is cooked with garlic, ginger, and a savory-sweet sauce, then wrapped in crisp lettuce leaves for a light yet satisfying dish. Perfect for weeknight dinners or meal prep!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (lean preferred)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 head butter lettuce (or romaine), leaves separated
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup crushed peanuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Sauté Aromatics: Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Brown the Beef: Add the ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Add the Sauce: Stir in soy sauce and hoisin sauce. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes to absorb all the flavors.
  4. Assemble the Wraps: Spoon the beef mixture into crisp lettuce leaves. Top with green onions, shredded carrots, sesame seeds, and crushed peanuts if using.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Serve immediately with extra hoisin or soy sauce on the side.

Notes

  • Use butter lettuce or romaine for the best texture.
  • Add a drizzle of sriracha or red pepper flakes for some heat.
  • For extra crunch, stir in chopped water chestnuts.
