Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients:

  • pound flank steak
  • ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon pepper (or to taste)
  • 16 inch wooden skewers (12)
  • For Teriyaki Sauce
  • ¼ cup soy sauce (low sodium)
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 teaspoon fresh ginger (minced)
  • 2 teaspoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Teriyaki Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, water, rice vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch. Cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
  2. Marinate the Steak: Season the flank steak with salt and pepper, then slice it into thin strips. Place the steak in a bowl and pour half of the teriyaki sauce over it. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Skewer and Cook: Thread the marinated steak strips onto wooden skewers. Grill or broil the skewers for about 5-7 minutes per side, basting with the remaining teriyaki sauce.
  4. Serve: Once cooked to your liking, serve the beef teriyaki skewers hot with extra sauce on the side.

Notes

  • Soak the wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes before using to prevent them from burning during cooking.
  • You can add veggies like bell peppers and onions to the skewers for added flavor and color.
