  • pounds shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Ground black pepper, to taste
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, divided
  • ½ cup diced yellow onion
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, plus more to taste
  • ⅔ cup dry white wine
  • 1½ cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Chopped fresh parsley and lemon wedges for garnish
  • Cooked pasta or rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Season Shrimp: Season shrimp with salt and black pepper.
  2. Cook Shrimp: In a large skillet, melt half of the butter and cook shrimp until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  3. Sauté Aromatics: In the same skillet, sauté onion, garlic, and red pepper flakes until fragrant.
  4. Deglaze Pan: Pour in white wine and let it reduce slightly.
  5. Add Cream: Stir in heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
  6. Melt Cheese: Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and sauce thickens.
  7. Combine: Return shrimp to the skillet and coat with the creamy sauce.
  8. Serve: Garnish with parsley and lemon wedges. Serve over cooked pasta or rice.
