Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 ounces (225g) fettuccine or pasta of your choice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound (450g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

    1. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

    2. Prepare the Ground Beef:

      • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
      • Add the finely diced onion and sauté for 2–3 minutes until translucent.
      • Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
      • Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon, and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
    3. Prepare the Alfredo Sauce:

      • Reduce the heat to medium-low.
      • Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine with the beef mixture.
      • Add the grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. Stir continuously until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
      • If the sauce is too thick, gradually add some of the reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.
      • Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
    4. Combine Pasta and Sauce:

      • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce.
      • Toss gently to ensure the pasta is evenly coated with the sauce.
    5. Serve:

      • Divide the pasta into serving bowls or plates.
      • Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and additional grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
      • Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For added depth of flavor, consider deglazing the pan with a splash of white wine after browning the ground beef and before adding the cream.
  • To incorporate vegetables, add sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or broccoli florets to the sauce before combining with the pasta.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave, adding a splash of cream or milk to maintain the sauce’s consistency.
