Units Scale

For the Lavender Syrup:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons dried culinary lavender

For the Margarita:

  • 2 oz silver tequila
  • 1 oz lavender syrup
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz cream of coconut
  • 0.5 oz orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or Triple Sec)
  • Ice cubes
  • Coarse salt or sugar for rimming (optional)
  • Lime wheel and lavender sprig for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Lavender Syrup:

    • In a small saucepan, combine water and granulated sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
    • Add dried lavender, reduce heat, and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
    • Remove from heat and allow the mixture to steep for an additional 15-20 minutes.
    • Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the lavender buds. Let it cool completely before use.
  2. Rim the Glass (Optional):

    • Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass to moisten it.
    • Dip the rim into coarse salt or sugar, coating it evenly.
  3. Mix the Margarita:

    • In a cocktail shaker, combine silver tequila, lavender syrup, fresh lime juice, cream of coconut, and orange liqueur.
    • Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well-chilled.
  4. Serve:

    • Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice.
    • Strain the margarita mixture into the glass.
    • Garnish with a lime wheel and a sprig of lavender.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute cream of coconut with coconut milk.
  • Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of lavender syrup to taste.
  • The lavender syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
