Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup melted butter or vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven – Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix the Dry Ingredients – In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Combine the Wet Ingredients – In another bowl, mix the sugar, eggs, melted butter (or oil), milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Fold in the Chocolate Chips – Toss the chocolate chips in a bit of flour before stirring them into the batter to prevent sinking.
  5. Pour and Bake – Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool and Serve – Let the bread cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • For extra richness, use brown sugar instead of white.
  • Swap butter for coconut oil for a subtle flavor twist.
  • If using whole wheat flour, replace only half the flour to keep the bread from becoming too dense.
