Tender and flavorful Asian steak bites marinated in a savory blend of soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and spices, then seared to perfection and served with a delicious sauce.

Marinade

  • 1 pound ribeye steak (cut into 1-inch bite-size pieces)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sweet soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper (coarsely ground)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda

Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce (such as sambal oelek)
  • 2 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Marinate the steak: In a bowl, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sweet soy sauce, black pepper, cornstarch, and baking soda. Add steak pieces, mix well, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Make the sauce: In a separate bowl, mix hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, chili garlic sauce, and water. Set aside.
  3. Cook the steak: Heat a pan over high heat, add marinated steak bites, and cook until browned and cooked through.
  4. Serve: Drizzle the sauce over the steak bites and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add minced garlic and ginger to the marinade.
  • Adjust the chili garlic sauce according to your spice preference.
